ADVISOR SERVICES

Working with complainants or respondents throughout the process.

Chess pawns connected by directional arrows to their leader. Teamwork and leadership. Busi

An individual's educational or professional security and success are profoundly impacted by misconduct matters. Further, the process can be intimidating and overwhelming. I help respondents and complainants understand and effectively navigate the process and be fully heard, including: ensuring the individual has access to supportive measures; persuasively writing or responding to complaints; preparing for interviews and hearings; identifying evidence and witnesses supporting the individual's case; reviewing and responding to investigation reports; representing the party at the institutional misconduct hearing; and filing appeals.

Combining my work as a criminal defense attorney, my work in the educational compliance field as a Title IX/Equity Coordinator, and my work as an external consultant and attorney, I have over twenty years of experience working with parties within a misconduct resolution process. My deep experience in all the roles involved in a process, including the Title IX coordinator, investigator, hearing officer, and mediator, allows me to advise parties in an effective and informed manner.

In addition, and most importantly, my understanding of the personal challenges inherent in these cases allows me to work with an individual with an eye on the emotional and personal impact throughout the misconduct process.
